What we read

When you run an assessment we read the business’s public Google Business Profile, fetch its public website, run Google’s PageSpeed Insights against that site, and send three questions about the trade and city to Google’s Gemini model. All of it is public information about a business. We do not read anything that requires a login, and we never ask you for access to your Google Business Profile, your website, or your analytics.

What we store

The assessment result: the score, each signal and the plain-English evidence for how it was checked, and the model’s answers verbatim. Google Places identifiers are retained; all other Google Places content is treated as a 30-day cache and re-fetched after that, as Google’s terms require. Assessment data is retained for 24 months, then deleted — and deleted sooner on request.

Contact details

We do not require an email address to run an assessment. If you give us one, we use it to send you your report and to follow up about your assessment. We never sell it. A phone number is only ever used for text messages if you explicitly consent on the form where you give it, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by replying STOP or by contacting us.

Who else is involved

Running an assessment sends requests to Google (Places, PageSpeed Insights, and the Gemini model). Results are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, and this site is hosted by Vercel. Those providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to have it deleted, to correct it if it is wrong, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right exists and we will honour a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

The categories of personal information we may collect are: identifiers (a name, email address, or phone number, only if you give them to us) and internet activity relating to your use of this site. We collect them directly from you. We use them to deliver your assessment and to follow up about it. We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect anything from children.

Business information in an assessment — a company name, address, phone number, hours, reviews — is published business data, not personal information about you.

To make a request, contact us using the details below and tell us what you want us to do. We will confirm we received it and respond within the time the law allows. We may need to verify that the request really comes from you, or from someone authorised to act for you, before we act on it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
